My Bio

Bonjour! My name is Gabriela Gallardo and I am thrilled to spend my next year abroad, in the beautiful country of Belgium. I live in St. Augustine, FL, the nation’s oldest city, and I am currently a sophomore at Nease High School. I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program, as well as French and PINK club . I live with both of my parents, my brother and my three dogs. We were all born in El Salvador- the smallest country in Central America- and moved here a year and a half ago. During my free time I like to ride my bike, play tennis, run, and go to the gym. In addition, I love to hang out with my friends: we go ice- skating, to the movies, and to the beach. My hobbies include practicing my photography skills and reading. I currently speak two fluent languages English and Spanish, but I am also learning French and Chinese. Since I was young I have always loved to travel. I have had the opportunity to go to Honduras, Mexico, Germany, and different States in the US. I am an open-minded person that likes to take challenges and I am not afraid to try new things. I would like to thank my parents and Rotary for this opportunity that will change my life in the best way possible. I am looking forward to the new adventures waiting for me: full of new friends, experiences, and emotions. As an exchange student I want to prosper in all aspects of my life. I am so excited to enrich my abilities, culture, and mind by learning from others from different backgrounds. I have always believed that traveling changes the mind and heart; it opens eyes and makes you see and live life differently.
