My Bio

안녕하세요, or hello! My name is Robert and I am currently a junior at Saint Augustine high school. I am so excited and thankful to have been chosen to go to on foreign exchange to South Korea, which was my first pick from the start. I live with my father, mother, grandma, and my younger sister. In Jrotc I am a non-commissioned officer and a squad leader. I am also on the drill team and raider team in jrotc. After school I volunteer at a nearby assisted living facility for the elderly, I'm in interact club, and work a job. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and also playing and watching sports like: boxing, rugby, American football, soccer, and baseball. I have always been interested in other languages, I am currently in my second year of Spanish, I have tried to teach my self a little bit of German and Latin. I first got the desire to do foreign exchange because of my friend Igor who was born in Russia, moved to America when he was young, and went on foreign exchange to Italy and Germany. He showed me the positive effect that foreign exchange has on you and the community and made me want to be a part of that change. My goals for my year abroad are: to learn Korean, both written and spoken, to have a better understanding of another culture, to make lifelong bonds and friendships, and to eat lots of tasty Korean food. When I found out that I was chosen for Korea I was so excited that I couldn't stop smiling ear to ear for the whole night. Thank you so much for this opportunity Rotary, I wouldn't waste it
