Words of Caring, Support, and Love from our Friends and Partners in Rotary
Youth Exchange
From Izumi Ekawa, Inbound Student to Ocala, FL from Japan 2000-01
Hello all,
Well I don't know what to say, I just cant believe what
happened yesterday.... I hope all of you are all right. I was completely shocked
when I saw what was happening in the USA, suddenly the horrible news started to
appear on the TV. I still cannot believe that it was true. It is making me
really, really upset. How could people do this!!!!!!
I am terribly worried about all of you, I cant stand that my
families and friends there are way too far away from where I am. I wish I could
fly there to see you all right now. I pray that all of you and your families are
all fine. Although I am on the other side of ocean, I think of you a lot all the
time and do hope these horrible things will never happen again. Let me know that
you are all ok, please. Everything is fine with me except what is going on in
the USA and being worried.
Please be safe.
Love always,
Izumi

Dear American Friends,
I hope that you and your family will be fine. We Rotarians believe
in peace, exchanges, knowledge, and want a new world for our kids. I am feeling
like your people, that my earth is broken and I would like to say to you: Don't
be afraid, the world is with you.

From Youth Exchange Committee, District 4650, Brazil
Dear Friends,
Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims, families and friends of those
involved in this tragedy; our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. In our time of
sorrow we need to look to God to give us strength to continue on. It is times
like this that we realize how seldom we tell our loved ones just how much they
mean to us and how much they are loved. Don't be afraid to say the words, and a
'hug' can say a thousand words.

Prayer For America from District 4650
I wanted to find some words with this card.
That would help us get thru this time when life is so hard.
It seems you can't bear it - perhaps can't go on -
When deep in the heart there's no trace of a song.
Some words that would comfort - when late in the night
The trials return and you're too tired to fight.
Or the tears flow so often it seems you run dry.
And life gets so tough that you're safe from all pain.
Some place you can rest 'till you find joy again.
What are words we so need to hear? -
That will help and will heal and remove all our fear -
That builds up inside 'till we think we'll explode -
What are the words that will lighten the load?
If only I knew the right words to say.
To encourage and Bless us or comfort us is some way.
I know not the words but this we can do.
We can all say prayers, for me and for you.
God Bless America and, God bless you, dear Rotarian friend.
Amen
