District
6970 Conference — April 30 - May 2, 2004
|
 |
| On Friday, April 30, Rotarians from
throughout District 6970 gathered in Jacksonville for the start of the
annual District Conference. But this year, there was something
special, as the Friday luncheon began with a "Parade of Flags".
Thirty-five of our current inbound students and outbound
candidates made a dynamic impression on the crowd of 500+, carrying in the
flags of our 18 exchange partner countries, while singer Lyndie Burris
performed "We Are The World". For many Rotarians present, it was their first
exposure to Rotary Youth Exchange, and they shared our pride and enthusiasm
in the growth of the program. |
