Third Annual Welcome Home Dinner - July 22, 2006

2005-06 Outbounds Share the Stories of their Exchanges

Laughter and tears, smiles and wonder, a Russian mini-skirt and a Japanese kimono, all were part of the third annual Youth Exchange Welcome Home Dinner on July 22, as District 6970 celebrated the successful exchanges of our outbound class of 2005-06.

With an audience of more than 200 Rotarians, family members, and friends, the new "rebounds" provided a terrific program for all, describing some of their unique experiences, sharing pieces of the language and culture they had adopted, and, at least for one, celebrating his adopted country's recent World Cup triumph. Each of the students had their own stories to tell, and it was obvious how deeply touched many had become, as interruptions for tears were common. It was an inspiring evening for all in attendance.
