My first month in America has really met my expectations;
I have a great host family and I love the school! But the move to America
has also been a big change in my life as compared to my life in Norway:
1) The climate is different! Norway is much colder than
Florida (and we do not have any hurricanes!!!)
2) The school is much different (In Norway I have only
one classroom where the teachers change, not the students, which is the
opposite in America).
3) In my school in Norway there are only 800 students
compared to 1200 here in Baker County high school.
4) The eating habits in America are very different
from the Europeans; everybody (?) in America eats junk food, we eat
healthy!! (Maybe we Europeans can teach Americans something new when it
comes to a healthy lifestyle...?) :)
In the end I want to say that I am proud to be able to
represent the Rotary club of my town in Norway, and I appreciate the
Baker County Rotary Club for my warm welcome, and each one of their
efforts in making my stay a great learning experience, and a fun year in
Florida!
:) I know I will have a great year!!!
Thank you!!
Best regards,
"Ricki"
