Albert's Bio

My name is Albert (Al) Luza. I'm from Turkey. I'm 18 years old. First of all I want to say ''Thank you'' to Rotary for give me this amazing chance. It's not easy to get used to it to living far away from my family and my friends. But I learned that I can do it.

This is my 2nd month in Boca Raton Community High School. It's a very big school. I'm not sure but I've heard, about 3,500 students studying at Boca High. Even though the difference between Turkish and American education system, I'm pretty sure that everyone loves this system. Very good, big and brand new building. Teachers and my classmates are good to me. But obviously it's not easy to make so many close friends. That's why I can't say that I'm so happy. But I believe everything is gonna be fine. My host family are very very nice people. I'm so happy with living with them. I also want to say Thank you to them for everything.

January 2 Journal

Hi! Two weeks ago we went to Disney World with Rotary - it was a wonderful experience. It was really pleasant to meet with all exchange students. And with the Christmas lights Disney World was pretty wonderful. I really want to say thank you for this.

In addition to school I've met new exchange student friends. It opened my mind and changed my opinion in a lot of stuff. I think I'm very lucky to be here.

I changed my family last week. I think it's an opportunity to meet new people and learn a new culture, because every family has different rules. There also are two kids in my family, they are very nice.

Now I'm in vacation for one more week. It's an opportunity to meet all the exchange student again, to go to the mall for some shopping and just decontract from school. I want to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. I wish you a lot of happiness and again thank you for this opportunity - to pass a Christmas and Chanukah in America is I think the best present that everybody can have.
