Fanni's Bio

I'm Fanni Csizmadia from Hungary. I finished my 10th grade in Hungary. I live in Kecskemét in the central part of Hungary. It is the 8th largest city in the country and it has a beautiful downtown, I love to live there. I live with my parents and my little brother. Also I have a big sister who lives near to the capital city, Budapest with her husband and their lovely children.

I came to Florida on 11th of August, so I'm here for a month, but it seems less. I think time flies too fast, and I don't want to think about I have 10 months left. I want to enjoy every moment of this opportunity! Now I'm living in Flagler Beach with my host mom, Lea, who is the nicest person and I can't tell how I love to live with her. I don't feel that I'm a guest, I feel like I'm one part of her family and this is really cool! I’m junior in Flagler Palm Coast High School. It's very different from my old school, but I like it every day more and more! My old school has 500 students and FPC has over 2000. The first days were hard, but everybody is friendly and helpful, they make it easier to me.

I love my new life, every time I go somewhere and do things I never before. Everyday I meet with a lot of new people and learn new things. Somebody is right who said that to be an exchange student is the hardest thing because everything is new and different BUT also this is the best thing I ever had! I want to say thank you for all the Rotarians to hosted me and to my family! I love Florida!

April 4 Journal

Hello! :)

First, I want to apologize that my first journal is just posted now. The excuse can be that I have a great time and I enjoy every moment of my exchange year. I have visited many places, and 2 weeks until I'll go to Texas with my host family! :) I can't wait!

I'm already staying with my 3rd host family, and I feel so lucky, because all of my families are wonderful, and I'm having a blast. I had an awesome first Thanksgiving with my 1st family, Christmas with my 2nd and now we're celebrating Easter with my 3rd family. :) My school, FPC is awesome, I have a lot of great friends and it’s going to be hard to say goodbye to them. So, I'll enjoy the rest of the time without thinking about leaving...

Also, if I would have to talk about my best moments, I would definitely say Disney World and Seacamp in first place! I'm so glad that we had this weekends, it's always fun together with the other exchange students. Love you guys!

Time flies too fast, and I have 3 more months left. It feels like yesterday, when I went to the orientation. I just realized, how much my life changed with this exchange program. It was definitely a very good choice to come here.

In June, we are going to the west coast tour, I’m looking forward to spend the time with my exchange friends, however, not everyone can come with us. :(

A few weeks ago I had appendicitis. I don’t think I can tell how much I appreciate the help from Rotary while I was sick. I had a surgery, and I had to spend 2 weeks at the hospital. My parents came over from Hungary to visit me, and it was great to see them. :)

Thank you Rotary for the best year of my life! ;)
