Leon's Bio

Hello, my name is Leon. My friends call me 'Kuan'. I live in Taichung, a really nice city in Taiwan, which is in central Taiwan.

I am spending my year on exchange in Ponte Vedra Beach, which is a beautiful city in Florida. I am attending Ponte Vedra High School, as a junior. I hope to have many adventures, including make friends, learn English, introduce Taiwan.

November 10 Journal

Hey, everyone! It has been two months since I came here. So, how is my life here? Is everything going right? Certainly, especially thanks to my host family, which is awesome. I also have to thank my cross country team - one member may even be my next host family! Because my first friends at school, who I had lunch with, all are team members, they help me to get used to this country, teach me a culture, and how to make correct sentence and pronunciation. By the way, starting Aug 24 until now, we keep practice 6:45-8:30 everyday, not only sunny days, but also in rain. We believe: No sacrifice, no victory. Finally we made it, the district top 5, then this weekend we are going to Tallahassee for the championship. We are so excited and already to get top 1.

December 2 Journal

Wooooow Thanksgiving! This is my first Thanksgiving, because we don’t have Thanksgiving in Taiwan. My host family brought me to Key West, It was really long drive…12 hours!

Second day- I never thought going to beach would be boring, because ... girls, girls, and girl. But you see all ladies lying at beach whose age more than 54 years old (because my host mom 53 years old)…it is not much fun at all! Also we go to skin diving, water is so clear, beautiful; unfortunately I never see any creature either.

Third day- We rent scooter, explore Key West, we went to Hemingway‘s house, teach my sister how to ride scooter (of course not me teach her), shopping, after explore, I go to look around by myself. Why does Key West have so many adult entertainment clubs? When I pass, everyone at clubs all look at me, it is so terrible, maybe they just think he look like delicious….just kidding, adult club is legal at USA?

Fourth day- today is easy day, we just sleep until afternoon and chatting chatting and chatting, I’m so happy my English better so much, then we go to wharf, watch the variety show, like animal circus, one man band, magic show. I like one man band only, because other one tempo is so s~~~~l~~~~o~~~~w~~~~.

I don’t wanna type about last day, because only sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat then get go to bed, first day and last day have to drive 12 hours…really long… I hope everybody have a good thanksgiving vacation too :)

February 3 Journal

Seacamp international weekend

This weekend we went to Seacamp. We catch a bus at 4:45 then start the long ride.

1/28 In a bus we only have 4 thing can do, chat, eat, watch movie, sleep. Finally we got to first place: Dolphin Care, we saw Dolphin show and learned lot knowledge about dolphin, for instance how to train dolphin, how long they can live. Also we touch lot ocean creature example: Sea Cucumber, Sea Urchin, Shrimp

When we got Seacamp is 7 already. After check in, 8:30 we have a camp fire, I met lot new friends from Michigan.

1/29 Before Field trip activity we have some training to do, used to water temperature, how to handle accident, avoid any emergency, the water is cold, but everybody is so hyper. Afternoon, first time field, we went to shoal, but we didn’t see any creature, because most fish is dying by couple weeks ago in frigid weather, a little bit disappointed … though we have not good field, but we have a awesome dance party! I just upload picture.

2/1 I went to second time field, water still turbid, also weather is not really good, so we just go back. After lunch, we start Group discussions about protect ocean and improve world.

2/2 We leave from Key West, shopping, look around, then back home.

Because this is last time all in FL inbound exchange student last travel, we maybe not meet each other any more.

I hope all of us have wonderful year. God invented the darkness to want the people to more treasure the moment when they get the brightness. Because we will leave each other someday, so we more treasure a time when we with all! Although we need to say farewell, but our friendship is forever

By the way, I will move to second family next week. I hope I can do a good job. :)
