Buse's Bio

Hello!,
My name is Buse. I'm sixteen years old and from Istanbul-Turkey. I have two older sisters and we l've at home with my Mother and Father.
I like to read books, listen to music and watch movies. I enjoy going shopping with my new friends in Fort Myers, Florida. I'm in 11th grade in High School here. In my school, I was in the school bands color guard squad, and now I'm trying out for softball. I'm not very good yet, but I am practicing hard. My classes are a little bit difficult but I know I will get better when my English improves. My host family helps me when I have trouble understanding a concept.
In my new family I have two brothers, a sister, and Mom and Dad. I live on a farm with a lot of animals which is very new and frightening to me. Now that I am getting used to the animals I am not so afraid. I will be riding horses and helping to round up cattle. I have a lot to learn since I am from the city. I am a member of a 4-H club. I am doing community service, working on my public speaking skills, learning about agriculture and making new friends.
I have visited my host Rotary club several times and they are very nice. My host mom is the President of the club. I will be visiting other clubs in the area to introduce myself and tell them about my youth exchange experience. This is a great program and I am happy to have had the opportunity.
There are alot of new things to get used to like the different language, many new friends, family, and culture. It's quite a shock! Sometimes I find myself thinking about why I wanted to be an Exchange Student. Maybe I'm a bit crazy but I think it will all be worth it in the end.
