Laiz's Bio

Hi, I'm Laiz and I'm 17 years old. I come from Ribeirao Preto- Sao Paulo, a city with a population of 600 thousands, which is as know as the capital of agrobusinnes and sugar cane. I have one sister 14 and one little brother 2. I spend a lot of time with my family and we are very close. Me and my family is always doing something together, mainly with my little brother! My father is a Rotarian and always appreciated the Rotary Exchange, he and my mom were the ones that always encouraged me to do exchange, I just have to say thanks to them and my sponsor Rotary Club for all the advice about the Exchange and the opportunity that they have given to me.

I also can say that I have 2 more sisters... two exchange students from Rotary stayed at home last year, a girl from Denmark and a girl from France, they are two oldest sister that I’ve never had. Anyways, was an awesome experience, we considered them a part of our family and we have had a great time together. We are always in touch since they left and I really miss my two half Brazilians sisters!

In Brazil, I used to play volleyball, play guitar, hang out with my friends and with my family and take trips... Unfortunately I can not play here, because they started practicing in the beginning of the summer... but I’m sure that I will find another activity to do.

I always say that my Exchange started one year before I left Brazil, I made awesome friends from Rotary in my sponsor district and I hope to do the same here.

I decided to do Exchange when I was 12 years old, since I love my country and my life in Brazil... but I was thinking in a year that I would learn a lot, become more mature, learn how to manage on my own, gain new experiences, make new friends , meet new people and go to new places. Now I am here and I hope to have a great year, with a lot of new experiences to tell, and of course take with me a little bit of America back home.
