Hi,
I'm Laiz and I'm 17 years old. I come from Ribeirao Preto- Sao Paulo, a city
with a population of 600 thousands, which is as know as the capital of
agrobusinnes and sugar cane. I have one sister 14 and one little brother 2.
I spend a lot of time with my family and we are very close. Me and my family
is always doing something together, mainly with my little brother! My father
is a Rotarian and always appreciated the Rotary Exchange, he and my mom were
the ones that always encouraged me to do exchange, I just have to say thanks
to them and my sponsor Rotary Club for all the advice about the Exchange and
the opportunity that they have given to me.I also can say that I have 2
more sisters... two exchange students from Rotary stayed at home last year,
a girl from Denmark and a girl from France, they are two oldest sister that
I’ve never had. Anyways, was an awesome experience, we considered them a
part of our family and we have had a great time together. We are always in
touch since they left and I really miss my two half Brazilians sisters!
In Brazil, I used to play volleyball, play guitar, hang out with my
friends and with my family and take trips... Unfortunately I can not play
here, because they started practicing in the beginning of the summer... but
I’m sure that I will find another activity to do.
I always say that my Exchange started one year before I left Brazil, I
made awesome friends from Rotary in my sponsor district and I hope to do the
same here.
I decided to do Exchange when I was 12 years old, since I love my country
and my life in Brazil... but I was thinking in a year that I would learn a
lot, become more mature, learn how to manage on my own, gain new
experiences, make new friends , meet new people and go to new places. Now I
am here and I hope to have a great year, with a lot of new experiences to
tell, and of course take with me a little bit of America back home.
