Hope's Bio

My name is Hope Stinson. I'm a 15 year old sophomore at St. Augustine High School. I have the privilege and pleasure of being able to call myself a RYE student. I will be spending my next year abroad in the unique country of Hungary! For now, I reside in the old and small city of St.Augustine, Florida. I live with my mom Katie, my dog Spinner, and occasionally my brother Sam when he visits from college. Our home is only a short walk away from the beach and near downtown. This is one of many types of surroundings I'm used to. My mom is an airline pilot so I have been able to travel around the US quite a bit. I have experienced different climates with many different types of people. This has encouraged me to develop a natural talent for fitting in. I guess you could call me very much a people person.

St. Augustine High School has been a great experience for me. From friends to academics to the overall experience of high school, there is a lot of diversity. I enjoy the creativity and freedom it offers, which is why I'm even more excited to learn about education in a different country. My passions include the arts. Mainly, I love to dance and draw. I'm excited to see how another culture portrays their art onto paper and into their lives. I'm also into sports and am currently on the Varsity Soccer team. I spend most of my summers in the northeast at a camp with lots of water sports.

As an ambassador from the United States I will get to help, not on only one community, but two at the same time. I'm open to trying and learning new things. Traveling to a different part of the world and living with a local family is an opportunity I am really looking forward to. I know everything I see and learn will stay with me for a lifetime. I'm very excited about my year abroad and can't wait to share the stories I'll have when I return.
