Ola! My name is Madeline Tibbetts. I am a fourteen year old Rotary Youth Exchange Student. I currently am in my freshmen year at Ponte Vedra High School and I will be spending my sophomore year in Brazil! I have lived in Ponte Vedra my whole life on a farm with my mother and my step-father. I have three siblings (blood related that is). I have two older brothers, Dean and Jake. I also have an older sister, Danielle. Dean and Danielle already have children of their own and Jake currently attends Florida State University. Go NOLES! I love my family but separation anxiety definitely isn't a shared trait among us Roth/Tibbetts'. I recently went on a mission trip to Taiwan and China and that trip plus the lovely Mrs. Paula Roderick are what got me to this point!I'm ridiculously excited and thankful to be going to Brazil! I love to eat. Haha! But seriously, I love food. You can count on me not to be picky! I also love reading, writing, watching movies, listening to music and blogging! I spend a lot of my free time with my friends! I think I can honestly say that Ihave the best friends anyone could ever have! My friends and I drive all over the city looking for the best restaurants! Other than eating together my friends and I love watching scary movies and occasionally dancing in the target parking lot. We love going on adventures and we constantly try new things. Seeing as I live on a farm my friends Bobert and Sydney are always trying to hop in the saddle and ride one of my horses. (Bobert claims that horse back riding doesn't take skill, boy is he in for a surprise!) I have made so many lovely memories with my friends and I'm going to miss them but I'm thrilled to make new memories in Brazil!
I've had this wanderlust since I was just a little girl but now rather than day dreaming about it, I get to actually experience the world! I always thought that I would have to wait until I was older to live and learn a whole new culture but thankfully Rotary Youth Exchange is opening my eyes to what I can accomplish at such a young age. I'm buzzing from excitement about my future exchange but for right now I have to work on my Portuguese! Tchau! |
