All inbound students are expected to attend the District Assembly.
Part of your responsibilities as an D-6970 Exchange Student is to support and help promote the exchange program. One way for you to do this is to attend the District Assembly.
Saturday, April 29, 2017
- We expect inbound students to contact your club's Rotarians WELL IN ADVANCE to get a ride.
- DO NOT expect your host parents to drive you (unless they are Rotarians and are going anyway).
Our Rotary District 6970 is conducting their District Assembly at the Ringhaver Student Center located at Flagler College in St. Augustine on Saturday, April 29, 2017.
District Governor Elect Brent Coates has requested that our Rotary Youth Exchange Inbound Student Ambassadors lead the opening ceremony with a " Parade of Flags".
We will be meeting at 7:45 am to distribute the flags and do a quick review. The District Assembly will start at 8:00 am.
Inbound students should wear their RYE Blazers and be prepared to carry their country's flag.
Plan to be in attendance from 7:45 am until after lunch. (Lunch will be provided.)
Also, we have been asked to have a Rotary Youth Exchange table in the "House of Friendship" during the day. I would like to have some RYE Inbound Students available to speak to the Rotarians about your exchange.
*There will be a Rotary Youth Exchange Presentation scheduled at 11:30 am.
Many of your Host Club Rotary Club members will be in attendance. So, transportation should not be an issue to and from the District Assembly. Please start to arrange transportation with your Club Counselor and your Youth Exchange Officer (YEO).
**This will be the final assembly for the entire Rotary Youth Exchange Inbound Class of 2016-2017.
***Ringhaver Student Center is located at the corners of King & Savilla Street in Building #18.
